Divine Idiots
A project that was conceived in 1999 after a pwb - rono rehearsal.
Peter, Chic and Rono were sitting around Big Dweeb Studio with
a toasty buzz of music, considering pop music a bust. With that
said, they proceeded to write the metal satire Idiot Song. The
music is heavy and the lyrics are about nothing.
The Idiot Song was first performed during
the Jennifer Closure, a poetry performance by Peter at the Common
Grounds. This show featured Chic and Rono as the Divine Idiots.
Im not sure who came up with the name
Divine Idiots and at this point who cares, its a great name for
a band.
Peter thought that a Menudo type thing
with teen age musicians would be fun, regretfully so. At this
time Chic had been mixing an Enfield teen band called Bitter Youth
. Their guitarist Nick Gonzales was interested in the Divine Idiots
project. He recruited a couple of his friends, Josh Venn and Jon
Burnett. After a few rehearsals and a recording session at Big
Dweeb Studios the Divine Idiots were born. With Peter on vocals,
the expectation was that the boys would eventually write the music
instead of covering his older material. This did not happen.
The rest of this period was a painful
experience for Peter and Chic. The age and social difference was
too much to over come. After opening up for national metal act
Shadows Fall, words were said, feelings hurt and the kids left.
But the kids are alright.
Meanwhile, Chic had been in the studio
finishing the Divine Idiots CD Commercial Pig. This recording
is a master piece of mixing, treating and editing. With only one
song recorded (Idiot Song), Chic proceeded to cut and mix
another seven songs by mixing a handful of Peters; poems and rants.
Rono added some more guitar for a finishing touch.
Over the last few years the Divine Idiots
have continue to perform Commercial Pig live by using guest musicians
to overlay pieces on the original recording. Peter drinks whisky
and runs around on stage toasting his poems and giving hard advice,
while Chic amuses the audience as the ninja puppet master.
When Media Factory Show TV production
became the focus of Peter and Chic, the Divine Idiots did live
performance to promote the TV show and the Commercial Pig CD.
The Divine Idiots where also featured on Media Factory Show TV
3, capturing some live footage and some white noise music.
With Media Factory Show TV in full swing,
Peter and Chic have now written the Divine Idiots into the animated
segment of their show The Cut Out World.
Its something like the Archies meeting South Park.

HEAVY METAL / PERFORMANCE
PETER WESLEY BASTONE
- SINGER / SONGWRITER
Peter known as the groceryman
is singer and songwriter.
CHIC MCKNICKNIX - NINJA PUPPET
MASTER
Chic portrays himself and performs
as the ninja puppet master.
KOOLKNEE - DRUMMER
Kool Knee, the Grocerymans crazy
sidekick joins the DIs as the drummer. With virtually no talent
what so ever, KK pounds, beats and turns on the drum machine.
JOEY RAISIN - LEAD GUITAR
On guitar, a relative new comer
to the Cut Out World, Joey Raisin. Joeys been playing guitar
since seeing the classic punk rock band the McKnickNix back in
the early 90s. Now in cartoon form Joey is able to go back in
time and jam with his guitar idol Chic. Joey shreds and swings
the mean axe.
MR CUCUMBER - KEYBOARDS
Peter and Chic were able to
get Mr Cucumber to play keyboards. Cucumber, who has been doing
video ads for Netshows on Youtube, Myspace and various other
on line video communities, hasnt played the keys since being
cut out of a supermarket ad. Hes totally white noise!!!!!!
PICKY GEE - GUITAR
Another virtual nobody and new
comer to the Cut Out World, joining The DIs is rhythm guitarist
Picky GEE. Picky only knows one note, but hes working on learning
another one soon. He brings to the band a warm sense of rudeness
and inappreciably that says, this guy doesnt have many friends.
But I tell you, he plays the best one note guitar this side of
the MISSISSIPPI River. Get That!!!!
MUCHO MACHO - BASS
Last but not least, the probable
star to this whole mess Bass man (no Kee Wee not the fish) Mucho
Macho. Mucho is a teenage runaway from the isle of Yurhini, he
is the son of Prince Humba a former correspondent for Media Factory
Show who back in 1994 believed in Netshows World Domination.
Mucho is by far the best bassist anyone would want to be and
so he thinks. Netshows is asking everyone excluding law enforcement,
if you see Mucho Macho out on the town tell him its gig time.
